Prep Your Skin
To prevent your makeup from creasing, you need to create a base for your makeup.
Consider Your Skin Care Products
Creating a base for your makeup is more than just adding sunscreen or moisture. Using products that plump your skin, reduce wrinkles, and moisturize your skin properly will reduce wrinkles and dry rough patches of skin that can create inconsistencies in your makeup application.
Create a smooth canvas for your foundation by using caffeinated eye cram to reduce inflammation and plump the skin. Try multitasking products like a moisturizing SPF to prevent layering so many sin care products onto your skin.
Consider Your Morning Routine
Allow time for your products to completely absorb. It’s best to apply your products as soon as you wake up, before you even start to make your coffee or check Instagram.
If you apply makeup on freshly applied skin care products, there is a greater chance these products will crease, especially if there are weather changes or cool temperatures that will harden your wet skin care products as soon as you step into that icy wind.
‘ve tried this method many times, and it only works if you allow time for everything to dry and if you use a light hand with the eye cream and the color corrector.
For television, this is perfect because it reduces the risk of catching unflattering light but this will work for every day too.
As a former news anchor with three internships and two jobs, I did need a color corrector a few times and found this to do the trick!
Color Theory
Use color theory for under eye concealing without creasing.
Color Correctors
f your coffee bean eye cream isn’t making the cut and you’ve had one heck of a week, color correctors change our perception of light and can cancel out the shadows under your eyes.
If you use a color corrector, apply your skin care and eye cream first and pat that into your skin. Allow it to completely absorb.
We’ll go over specific steps below.
Application Order Matters
After, apply a thin layer of peach concealer or you can use lipstick in a pinch if you have a moisturizing formula.
After that dries, apply your concealer and set with a thin layer of mineral powder that matches your skin tone.
If you conceal one spot, use concealer over your foundation if you’re using a runnier formula. Or use a cream formula and blend well before applying powder.
It might seem like a good idea to rush to work, knowing you’ll just make it if you stop by that coffee shop.
But I don’t recommend.
Make time for yourself in the morning so you can look and feel your best.
If you rush your skin care, you might make mistakes. Your skin needs time to absorb your products.
Although this seems like the most intuitive step, you might be surprised by how many skip it.
Set your makeup right in the morning so you don’t spend the day fixing it or worrying about it. Just set it and go.
